First Junior Boxing Tournament Begins Tomorrow

The first Junior Boxing Championship for the 2026-2027 sports season will kick off tomorrow (Saturday), organized by the Boxing Federation at its venue in the Sabah Al-Salem area. The competition will run until October 14, featuring participation from several local clubs. The championship is part of the federation’s local competitions program for the current season, following last month’s hosting of the first Children’s Championship, making the Junior Championship the second of the season. This aligns with the federation’s plan to revitalize local competitions and broaden the sport’s participant base.

On his part, Ahmed Al-Zubain, secretary-general of the Boxing Federation, affirmed that the federation’s board is committed to advancing and developing the sport by regularly organizing local competitions with broad participation from member clubs, thereby helping to raise players’ technical standards and discover promising talents. Al-Zubain noted that the strength of local competitions and the variety of tournaments will positively impact the level of the national teams and enhance their readiness for international events, adding that the success of local championships is the result of continuous cooperation and coordination between the federation and its member clubs.
