As October begins, Kuwait Magazine continues its journey exploring the contours of development, thought, and art. The issue opens with an analytical reading of the Kuwait-China relationship, which celebrates 55 years of mutual trust and looks toward the future. In the “Word” section, a dialogue with poet Dr. Suad Al-Sabah highlights her conviction that she writes to live life twice, as she recounts her long career guided by freedom. In the context of preserving the nation’s memory, the issue recalls the establishment of the Center for the Care of Folk Arts in 1956, an early institutional initiative to preserve Kuwaiti folk and musical heritage, transferring it from vulnerable oral memory to artistic documentation and institutional archives. Additionally, the issue offers a visual reading of abstract art, which did not arise from an inability to represent reality, but from the skepticism that representational depiction alone is sufficient to convey truth. The magazine’s diverse pages deliver a comprehensive intellectual feast, combining economic strength, poetic sensitivity, authentic heritage, and artistic innovation. It is worth noting that the magazine is published by the Ministry of Media, under the supportive directives of Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture Omar Saud Al-Omar, Deputy Minister of Media Dr. M. Nasser Al-Muhaisen, Assistant Deputy Minister for the Supporting Services Sector Salem Al-Watyan, and Director General of the General Administration for Media Regulation Dr. Bader Al-Anazi, along with the efforts of the editorial team and its head, Khaled Al-Hadhan.
