Gaza Health: Israel spreads lies to destroy what remains of hospitals

Gaza – Agencies: The Gaza Strip Ministry of Health warned that Israel is once again promoting claims about the presence of weapons inside hospitals in order to target the remnants of the healthcare system, coinciding with the third anniversary of the onset of genocide. This came during a press conference yesterday held by the ministry’s spokesperson, Khalil Al-Diqran, marking the third consecutive year of what he termed “systematic medical genocide.” The spokesperson stated that the Israeli military “is once again issuing through its spokespeople a series of false and misleading claims alleging the presence of armed fighters or weapon storage inside hospitals and health facilities.” He categorically denied these allegations, asserting that their re-promotion is nothing but the fabrication of false justifications paving the way to continue undermining and destroying the remaining healthcare infrastructure. He added that these accusations recur at a time when Gaza’s healthcare system has been directly targeted since the start of the genocide, resulting in the destruction of most hospitals, the withdrawal of many from service, and the undermining of health infrastructure built over decades. He affirmed that what remains inside currently operational hospitals and medical centers consists solely of wounded patients and sick individuals fighting for their lives, alongside medical and humanitarian staff operating with minimal resources under extremely harsh conditions. He noted that the health sector is suffering from a severe shortage of medicines, consumables, and essential supplies needed to provide healthcare.
