Satellite Images: Activity at Nuclear Site Targeted by Israel

New York, Agencies: Recent satellite images reveal renewed activity at the “Mianeh” nuclear complex northeast of Tehran, months after it was targeted in an Israeli attack last March. According to high-resolution images captured in September and October, Iranian authorities have been clearing debris and repairing damage to the site. The attack destroyed several buildings, amid speculation that underground facilities were also affected. According to the Institute for Science and International Security, the recent activity may indicate efforts to restore capabilities related to nuclear weapons development and to rebuild what was destroyed at the nuclear complex. This comes as U.S. Vice President JD Vance stressed that Iran must make a “substantial” reduction in its uranium enrichment capabilities to meet U.S. demands and end the war. Vance, in an interview with Reuters, explained that any potential agreement would require Tehran to take concrete steps to reduce its enrichment capabilities, rather than merely pledging to do so in the future. He said Washington remains open to reaching an agreement with Iran, but would insist on tangible concessions regarding its nuclear program.
