The Yemeni Embassy in Kuwait expressed, in a statement received by Al-Nahar, the profound appreciation and gratitude of the Republic of Yemen, its leadership, government, and people, for the “steadfast and noble fraternal” stance of the State of Kuwait, its Amir, government, and people, and for its continuous support for the Yemeni people across various stages and circumstances. The embassy emphasized that this support embodies the depth of the historical ties and shared destiny between the two countries in the face of challenges threatening regional security and stability. It reaffirmed its confidence that Kuwaiti media and press will continue their role in highlighting what it described as “national victories” that serve the interests of Gulf and Arab national security.

The embassy announced the launch of a comprehensive military operation codenamed “Yemen Dawn,” in implementation of a decision by the Presidential Leadership Council headed by Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, and with the backing of the coalition supporting legitimacy. It regarded the operation as a “decisive turning point” toward restoring state institutions and reasserting sovereignty over all Yemeni territories. According to the embassy, the decision to launch the operation came after “exhausting all political and diplomatic regional and international efforts” to achieve peace, accusing the Houthi group of continuing military escalation and threatening international shipping lanes and neighboring states. It considered military resolution “inevitable” to protect the Yemeni people’s assets and safeguard Arab national security.

The embassy outlined three main objectives for the operation: ending the coup and restoring state institutions, extending the authority of the legitimate government over Yemeni governorates, particularly Sana’a; securing international waterways, especially the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the southern Red Sea; and targeting Houthi military capabilities, including drones, missile launchers, and boat depots rigged with explosives, according to the statement.

Regarding field developments, the embassy stated that the Yemeni Armed Forces and joint forces achieved synchronized advances along several fronts during the first 24 hours of the operation.
