Spain... Sánchez dissolves parliament and calls for early elections

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called yesterday for the dissolution of parliament and the holding of early elections on November 29. The elections were originally scheduled to take place next year. In a speech delivered from the Moncloa Palace, Sánchez said, “To carry out the deep reforms we need, we must mobilize our energies and secure a much larger, progressive majority that will enable us to break the hold of the elites, win new social gains, and continue transforming Spain.”
