Aden-Riyadh-Agencies: Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi announced yesterday the launch of the “Yemen Dawn” operation to restore state institutions, liberate the capital Sanaa, and end the Houthi militia coup, coinciding with the advance of government forces to control the Bab al-Mandab area along the Red Sea coastline.

Al-Alimi stated in a post on his official X account that the “Yemen Dawn” operation was launched to restore state institutions, liberate Sanaa, and end the Houthi militia coup. He added, “With God’s help, the will of our people, the bravery of our armed forces and all military formations, and the support of our brothers and friends, Yemen will move toward a new dawn of freedom, peace, and stability.”

The Yemeni Armed Forces had announced on Sunday the start of the implementation of the Liberation Battle, the completion of restoring state institutions, ending the Houthi coup, alleviating the suffering of the people, and re-establishing the state of order, constitution, and law.

With government forces advancing northward along the western coast under air cover, they took control of Bab al-Mandab and the Dhubab directorate, continuing their advance toward the city of Al-Mukha.

Sources close to the situation reported yesterday that Houthi militia elements were besieged in the Bab al-Mandab sector and on Miun Island. They noted that government forces had captured dozens of Houthi fighters and were heading toward the Amri Camp.

Military sources confirmed that Yemeni forces are launching attacks on the Houthis from three fronts in northern, western, and southern Yemen. Al Arabiya channel also reported that the armed forces had taken control of Al-Faliha and Qurun al-Bur south of Marib, with air support. Meanwhile, sources in Sanaa confirmed that warplanes conducted several airstrikes on positions in the capital.

Yemeni forces announced the start of the implementation of a “strategic offensive” on Sanaa, adding that they are using modern capabilities in the strategic attack on the capital.

Earlier, the armed forces stated that the Homeland Shield and Giants Brigades carried out a wide operation under air cover, liberating the Dhubab directorate and continuing their advance according to approved plans in the battle to end the coup.

The spokesperson for Yemeni forces, Colonel Majid Abdullah al-Nazili, clarified that they executed a flanking maneuver to control Bab al-Mandab. He confirmed the cutting of the road between Dhubab and Al-Mukha and the establishment of tight fire control over it.

A government military source earlier today explained that Yemeni forces had regained areas surrounding Bab al-Mandab in southwestern Yemen and were close to completely cutting off the Houthi group’s supply line to the Dhubab area, in a military move supported by intensive air cover.

The source said that units from the Giants Brigades and Homeland Shield forces, with the support of tribal fighters, entered Dhubab airport and the new Al-Nasr Road after executing a flanking maneuver behind Al-Saqiya village, according to the German news agency DPA.

He also noted that forces executed a tight ambush that separated Houthi forces in Bab al-Mandab from those in the Dhubab area. He added that joint forces managed to cut the road linking Al-Saqiya and the Amri Camp, which, according to field information, led to the siege of Houthi elements in the Bab al-Mandab sector and Miun Island.

He confirmed the killing of several Houthis and the flight of many others from their positions, while joint forces captured a number of prisoners. He pointed out that joint forces are currently heading toward the Amri Camp.

He also spoke of the continuation of military operations along the western coast under air cover, amid “significant progress by joint forces and the surrender of many Houthi elements.”
