Jesus Avoids Commenting on Ronaldo Rift

Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus sidestepped comments on the ongoing crisis with star player Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday, two days after the latter left the national team camp in anger at being left on the bench for the second consecutive match. The Portuguese national team’s media team cut short the press conference held by Jesus ahead of the third-round UEFA Nations League clash against Norway, following numerous questions about “CR7.” The former Benfica coach said, “Have I spoken with Chris? I won’t tell you anything. He is a symbol of our national team and of Portugal. We will have time to discuss all of this after the match. Let me focus on the team and on our opponent, Norway. That is our concern right now.”
