Abu Dhabi (Agencies): Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, stated that criticism by Iranian Supreme Leader’s advisor Ali Akbar Velayati of the UAE’s statement at the United Nations regarding its three occupied islands—Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa—constitutes “a political stance refuted by the facts and documents” that underpin the UAE’s assertion of its rights. Gargash said in a post on the X platform, “Our approach is clear and consistent: resolving the dispute peacefully through direct bilateral negotiations or by referring the matter to the International Court of Justice.” He added, “We will continue to assert our legitimate rights, steadfastly and responsibly, toward a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law.”
