Torres leaves Spain camp

Spanish striker Ferran Torres, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has left the Spanish national team camp and will return to France to receive treatment for an injury to his left ankle, the Spanish Football Federation announced yesterday. The federation stated in a press release that it permitted the new Paris Saint-Germain forward to depart the camp after he had been suffering from left ankle pain for several days, in order to “prioritize his recovery.” Young Real Madrid striker Carlos Espí will replace Torres, who scored the winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final this summer, in the upcoming Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia. To avoid any potential disputes, the Spanish federation confirmed that its medical staff has remained in constant contact with Paris Saint-Germain’s medical team since the start of the international break.
