Handball Federation elects its president today

The supplementary elections for the Handball Federation to elect a new board chairman and deputy secretary-general will be held at 7:30 p.m. today during the Ordinary General Assembly meeting, to complete the current board’s term, which ends in mid-2027. The sole candidate for chairman, Ahmed Al-Shari’ (representing Al-Qurain Club), is expected to be elected by acclamation, as is the candidate for deputy secretary-general, Mohammed Al-Khamis (representing Kazma Club). It has been confirmed that the second candidate for the position, Faleh Al-Azmi (representing Al-Shabab Club), withdrew from the election race after the nomination deadline closed. According to the statutes, the elections for the two seats will be conducted, and both candidates must secure at least eight plus one votes from the total number of General Assembly members to win their respective posts. The meeting will also approve the financial and administrative reports for the fiscal year ended on March 31, and appoint an auditor for the new fiscal year. The supplementary elections were held following the resignation of the former federation chairman, Fouad Al-Balushi, and deputy secretary-general, Abdullah Al-Diyabi.
