The Ambassador of the Republic of India to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, emphasized the importance of community initiatives in strengthening Kuwaiti-Indian relations, noting that the “Viksit Bharat Run” event serves as a gathering that brings together members of the Indian community with Kuwaiti citizens and residents of various nationalities, reflecting the community’s commitment to contributing to the society in which it resides. This statement was made by the Ambassador on the sidelines of the “Viksit Bharat Run” held at The Boulevard, with the participation of approximately 1,000 individuals from the Indian community, as well as Kuwaiti citizens and residents of different nationalities, while the number of registered participants exceeded 1,400.
The Ambassador explained that the event coincided with the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, which falls on October 2 each year, highlighting that Gandhi’s principles are rooted in values of cleanliness, community service, and patriotism—values that the activities and events held during this period aim to reinforce. She added that the race was organized at the conclusion of two weeks of “Seva” (meaning “service”) activities, noting that the event was not limited to members of the Indian community but brought together participants from various nationalities, including Kuwaiti citizens and friends from Egypt, Lebanon, and other countries.
She stated that these activities contribute to fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility toward the place where people live, affirming that “Kuwait is the second home” for members of the Indian community, who are keen on contributing to preserving the environment, health, and cleanliness in Kuwaiti society.
