Bringing joy to the hearts of children and their families, and transforming social responsibility into tangible presence, participation, and impact, constituted the primary objective of the “A Day That Makes a Difference” initiative organized by KIB Invest at the Abdullah House for Child Care, in collaboration with the Kuwait Association for Child Care in Hospitals and the Abdullah House for Child Care (KACCH & BACCH), and under the organization of Al-Irtiqaa’ Al-Fikri wa Al-Thaqafi Company. The initiative included a range of interactive and recreational activities for children and their families, alongside the provision of gifts and healthy refreshments, creating an atmosphere of engagement and participation that contributed to delivering a humane and entertaining experience for the children and their relatives. The event saw participation from KIB Invest representatives, who interacted directly with children and families across various segments of the initiative, reflecting a commitment to activating social responsibility through practical initiatives that address community needs and directly touch the lives of individuals.
On the human impact, Rokia Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, CEO of Al-Irtiqaa’ Al-Fikri wa Al-Thaqafi Company, stated that genuine community initiatives begin with the individual, noting that the value of impact is not measured by the size of the initiative, but by what it leaves in the lives of others. She added that the “A Day That Makes a Difference” initiative, hosted by KIB Invest at the Abdullah House, represented a distinctive human experience that reflected care for children and their families, commending the bank’s dedication to activating its role in social responsibility through initiatives that go beyond financial support to include presence, participation, and direct engagement. She emphasized that social responsibility gains its value when it transforms from a concept into practice, and from an initiative into an impact that reaches individuals and is felt by them, expressing her appreciation for the entities and individuals who contributed to the success of the event and the achievement of its humanitarian goals.
Comprehensive Care: The Abdullah House for Child Care (BACCH), affiliated with the Kuwait Association for Child Care in Hospitals (KACCH), is a specialized facility in Kuwait providing palliative care for children. It offers comprehensive services to children suffering from intractable or life-threatening illnesses, along with support for their families in an environment focused on dignity, hope, and quality of life. The house’s services include medical, psychological, social, and recreational care, provided free of charge to children and their families. It features facilities designed to offer a comfortable environment away from the traditional hospital atmosphere, including therapeutic playrooms, recreational areas, a theater, a gymnasium, as well as a school, a library, and rest and temporary residential care facilities when needed.
The project’s name is based on the story of the child “Abdullah,” whose human experience inspired the idea of providing a specialized environment for care and support for children and their families. His story has become a human model that contributed to the establishment of the Abdullah House to serve children facing similar health conditions.
