For the sixth consecutive year, the Capital Markets Authority is participating in the events of Global Investor Week, which is organized annually by a committee emanating from the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) since 2017. The initiative aims to achieve two main objectives: first, to raise investor awareness and enhance their financial literacy and educational opportunities; and second, to protect them. Additionally, it targets other goals, such as strengthening cooperation among IOSCO members within the framework of achieving the aforementioned primary objectives.
The Authority’s participation in this event—the sixth of its kind since its first involvement in the fifth edition in 2021—aligns with the Authority’s strategic direction to maintain an active presence at various relevant regional and international forums. This participation was manifested through an awareness campaign that included broadcasting awareness messages on the Authority’s social media accounts, specifically prepared for this engagement and covering the themes of the current year’s event.
Global Investor Week is an annual global campaign lasting one week, promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Members and supporters of the organization from all six continents participate by offering a range of activities, such as launching investor-targeted services and communication channels, organizing competitions to raise awareness of educational initiatives, and conducting awareness workshops in the same vein.
The Authority plans to implement an awareness program throughout October, preceding this year’s international event, which will take place from October 5–11, 2026. The program will focus on three main pillars that align with the themes of Global Investor Week this year:
• Investor Resilience: Aimed at raising awareness of the resilience factors investors must possess to protect their investments and navigate market volatility, particularly: knowledge and action plans for both bull and bear markets, and investment diversification.
• Digital Deception: Aimed at highlighting digital deception and deepfake techniques enabled by artificial intelligence technologies, including voice and image spoofing, fabricated videos, and other evolving forms of electronic fraud that keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
• Financial Fraud: Aimed at raising awareness of financial fraud practices, methods, and tools, and outlining the steps investors should take to avoid falling victim to fraudulent practices and misleading behaviors.
Finally, the Capital Markets Authority calls on all stakeholders interested in securities activities to follow and participate in this international initiative, to understand issues affecting their investment decisions, and to view these as opportunities for beginners to learn and empower themselves on their financial journeys, thereby becoming part of a global initiative that prioritizes informed and conscious investing.
