Abu Dhabi – Agencies: The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Union’s Public Prosecutor, Advisor Dr. Hamad Al-Shamsi, ordered the formation of a team of specialized public prosecution members to investigate the incident involving Flydubai flight, en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, which was diverted and landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. The ministry clarified in a statement that the investigation aims to ascertain the circumstances and causes of the incident, noting that UAE judicial authorities have jurisdiction over the investigation, as the aircraft is registered in the country and bears its flag. The statement added that the investigations will examine all aspects and motives of the incident, and determine whether there is any link to terrorist activity or purpose, or whether there was prior planning or direction. The UAE expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi authorities, commending their cooperation and handling of the incident.
