Mohammed bin Salman: Gulf Security and Stability Are Indivisible

Riyadh (Agencies): Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman affirmed that the security and stability of the Gulf are indivisible, noting that Riyadh is making every effort to de-escalate tensions and defuse conflicts. (See page 12).

In his annual royal address delivered at the opening of the third year of the ninth session of the Shura Council, Prince Mohammed bin Salman stated that the establishment of the “Mecca Defense Alliance” among Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan came “in line with our joint efforts to play our role in enhancing security and stability in the region.” Addressing council members, he stressed, “Your country possesses highly capable human and military resources, fully able to confront and deter threats regardless of their source.” He further affirmed that Riyadh is exerting every possible effort to de-escalate tensions and support diplomatic solutions, without any compromise in safeguarding its security.

The Crown Prince clarified that attacks targeting all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states underscore the indivisibility of Gulf security and stability. He noted that Saudi Arabia is working with Gulf countries to preserve regional security, pursue strategic cooperation and economic integration, and continue implementing the vision of His Majesty the King to enhance joint efforts that achieve the Council’s objectives and meet the aspirations of its citizens.

He emphasized that the world is currently facing an energy crisis with uncertain prospects, during which Saudi Arabia has served as a valve for global energy security, maintaining its ability to supply oil to international markets despite regional escalations.

On another note, the Saudi Crown Prince strongly condemned the ongoing brutal attacks by the Israeli occupation and called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to fulfill its expected role in reaching a permanent political solution.

Regarding the Yemeni issue, the Crown Prince stressed that Riyadh reaffirms its full support, through the coalition backing legitimacy, for the Yemeni government to extend its authority over the entire country, restore stability, and confront attacks by the Houthi militia, which has chosen chaos and destruction.
