Al-Wahib: Expanding Horizons of Security Partnership
Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib held talks with Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior Kubra Guran Yigitbasi to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation and coordination between the two countries. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said in a press statement that the meeting took place in the presence of Kuwait’s ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Al-Shaboub, as part of Major General Al-Wahib’s visit to Turkey.
The statement noted that Major General Al-Wahib conveyed greetings and appreciation from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif to his Turkish counterpart, emphasizing Kuwait’s commitment to developing areas of joint work and exchanging expertise between the security agencies of both countries, reflecting the deep, distinguished relations between Kuwait and the Republic of Turkey.
The meeting also addressed several security issues of mutual interest, foremost among them combating organized crime, drug trafficking and smuggling, and strengthening information-sharing mechanisms and coordination among competent authorities, particularly in confronting transnational crimes. The discussion also covered leveraging modern technologies and best security practices to enhance operational efficiency and security readiness.
Major General Al-Wahib and his accompanying delegation also visited the Turkish Operations Room, where they reviewed work procedures, modern systems, and technologies used in managing and monitoring security operations. They received a briefing on coordination, response mechanisms, and procedures for handling reports and incidents.
Major General Al-Wahib stressed that the visit reflects the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif, and his keenness to broaden the scope of security partnerships with other countries and develop joint work mechanisms to confront security challenges and consolidate the foundations of security and stability.
For her part, Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior Kubra Guran Yigitbasi emphasized the importance of continuing joint work and exchanging expertise between the two sides to serve mutual interests and contribute to enhancing the security and stability of both countries.
Earlier, Deputy Minister Al-Wahib also met with Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice Sadat Ay Yildiz to discuss ways to strengthen security and criminal justice cooperation and coordination, as well as to exchange expertise to improve work mechanisms and elevate institutional performance standards.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that at the outset of the meeting, held in the presence of Kuwait’s ambassador to Turkey Mohammed Al-Shaboub, Major General Al-Wahib conveyed greetings and appreciation from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif to the Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening cooperation frameworks and developing joint work areas with the friendly Republic of Turkey, reflecting the deep, distinguished relations between the two countries.
On his part, the Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice welcomed Major General Al-Wahib and his delegation, emphasizing the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two sides to serve mutual interests and strengthen the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries.
