Al-Wahib: Developing Skills of Detainees at the Reformatory

In line with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, to enhance security cooperation and exchange expertise with the Republic of Turkey, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Ahmed Al-Wahayb, accompanied by his delegation, visited the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers under the Turkish Ministry of Justice. During the visit, he reviewed the latest systems and modern technologies employed to develop the operational framework and improve operational and security efficiency. He was received by Director General Celbi Yilmaz and several officials.

The visit included the Electronic Monitoring Center, training centers, and the Sincan Complex. The delegation observed the health system and medical services, the trial proceedings mechanism and courtrooms, as well as vocational and professional workshops. Additionally, the Deputy Minister reviewed rehabilitation and training programs designed for inmates, which encompass professional and behavioral aspects aimed at developing their skills and enhancing their capabilities. These initiatives contribute to preparing inmates for positive reintegration into society after serving their sentences, while reinforcing a reform and rehabilitation approach alongside security considerations.
