Real Madrid confirms Mbappé injury

Real Madrid confirmed the day before yesterday that its striker and captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, suffered a “hyperextension of the left knee,” which forced him to leave the pitch in the second half of Friday’s match against Turkey in the first round of the UEFA Nations League. The Spanish club said in a statement: “Following examinations conducted by Real Madrid’s medical staff on our player Kylian Mbappé, he was diagnosed with a hyperextension of the left knee.” The striker left the field immediately after scoring the opening goal in the 54th minute against Turkey. French national team coach Zinedine Zidane told TF1 channel after France’s 1-0 victory in his first match in charge of Les Bleus: “He suffered a hyperextension of the knee.” He added: “I think he will have to return,” before the journalist asked: “So Kylian Mbappé’s stint is over?” Zidane replied: “Yes, because we will not take any risks.”
