The Ministry of Public Works announced the launch of a public tender for the construction, completion, and maintenance of roads and services, including two vehicular bridges and two pedestrian bridges in the Kabd area. The project’s detailed objectives are to directly benefit the areas of the South of Saad Al-Abdullah Cities project, West of Abdullah Al-Mubarak, and the Shadadiya industrial zone, by ensuring seamless traffic flow and facilitating mobility for residents of the surrounding areas. The project will also increase the capacity of the bridges and adjacent roads to accommodate vehicles and traffic density, introduce new stormwater drainage services to reduce asphalt deterioration caused by water accumulation on roads, and mitigate the impact of future flash floods. The scope of work involves completing the route of Circular Road 6.5 from the Kabd Al-Salibiya Road to the Salima Road, and connecting the area to the main surrounding roads (the 6th and 7th Circular Roads and the Salima Road) to facilitate traffic movement to and from the area. Additionally, the project aims to develop the region, particularly in light of ongoing residential developments such as the South of Saad Al-Abdullah residential area and West of Abdullah Al-Mubarak, and to upgrade existing and proposed roads to link industrial zones and cities, including the Shadadiya Industrial City.
