Mbappé leaves France's training camp

French national team captain Kylian Mbappé, who suffered a knee injury during the UEFA Nations League match against Turkey the day before yesterday, will leave his team’s camp “to avoid any risk,” according to an announcement by coach Zinedine Zidane on TF1 channel. Responding to a question about whether the Real Madrid striker would leave immediately after scoring the opening goal in the 54th minute, Zidane said, “Things don’t look good, unfortunately.” He added, “I think he will have to return,” before a reporter from the channel asked again, “Is Kylian Mbappé’s camp over?” Zidane replied, “Yes, because we will not take any risks. He suffered a severe knee strain.” The French Football Federation subsequently confirmed that Mbappé, who “is suffering from a tendon injury,” would return to Madrid to receive treatment.
