Boxing Launches Its Season with the First Junior Championship

The Boxing Federation launched its new 2026-2027 season yesterday with the opening of the first Junior Championship at the Federation’s hall in the Sabah Al-Salem area. The competition will run until September 30. Held as the first stop of the Federation’s new season, the tournament features participation from young players across various junior age categories. The event holds special significance as a key initiative for identifying promising talent in the sport, providing young athletes with opportunities to compete, gain experience, and develop their skills at the early stages of their sporting careers.

On his part, Abdullah Al-Otaibi, President of the Boxing Federation, affirmed that the Federation’s Board of Directors is working to expand the base of participants in the sport, with a focus on youth age groups as the fundamental pillar for building national teams in the future, alongside providing players with regular opportunities to compete in local tournaments. He added, “The organization of the championship is part of the Federation’s plan for the new sports season, aiming to strengthen boxing’s presence across various age groups and contribute to discovering new talents who can be developed and prepared to represent Kuwait in upcoming competitions.”
