Al-Zayani: 7,000 Iranian attacks on Gulf states and Jordan

New York – Agencies: Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan have been subjected to approximately 7,000 attacks by Iran, describing the Gulf region as experiencing an “unprecedented” security situation amid the ongoing regional confrontation since the outbreak of the war against Iran on February 28.

Al Zayani made these remarks during Bahrain’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, stating that the attacks targeted civilian and energy facilities, which he described as “unjustified” and “a violation of international law.” He emphasized that restoring confidence and stability in the region “requires the enforcement of international law, not merely statements of condemnation,” while accusing the Houthis in Yemen of threatening navigation in the Bab el-Mandeb strait.

In a related diplomatic effort to contain the escalation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on Friday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
