Morocco: Authenticity and Modernity Party Leads Parliamentary Elections

Rabat – KUNA: Moroccan Interior Minister Abdoufati Lahlou announced yesterday that the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) led the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held on Wednesday, securing 97 out of 385 seats in the House of Representatives.

Speaking at a press conference, Lahlou stated that the National Rally of Independents (RNI), which headed the previous government, came in second with 66 seats, followed by the Istiqlal Party with 65 seats. The Justice and Development Party (PJD) won 54 seats, increasing its parliamentary representation by approximately fourfold compared to its results in the 2021 elections.

He added that the Popular Movement Party secured 29 seats, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces won 26 seats, the Progressive and Socialist Party obtained 19 seats, and the Constitutional Union Party received 17 seats. The remaining seats were distributed among several smaller participating parties.
