US-Regional Meeting to Discuss "Serious Developments"

New York – Agencies: Representatives of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, participated in a joint meeting hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump, attended by leaders and heads of delegations from several Arab and Islamic countries taking part in the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, the rapid developments and serious new developments in the region were discussed and reviewed, particularly the reprehensible Iranian aggression against regional countries, the safety and freedom of maritime navigation, and global energy supplies, as well as the situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting also emphasized the importance of strategic partnership and close, continuous coordination with the United States to enhance regional and international security and support efforts toward de-escalation and establishing the foundations of comprehensive and just peace in the region.

Meanwhile, the U.S. President announced yesterday that envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held a productive meeting lasting about three hours with an Iranian delegation in New York. However, he stressed that Tehran faces two choices: “one is very bad, and the other leads to greatness,” in his words. President Trump urged Iranian leaders to “seize the opportunity before it is too late.”

During his meeting with leaders and representatives of Arab and Islamic countries, Trump predicted that the war with Iran would end after the U.S. midterm elections. He also affirmed that Iran is completely isolated economically, noting that the United States might attack the “Jabal al-Fas” site if significant nuclear activity is detected there.
