Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques: Kuwait and Saudi Arabia... "A Story of Brotherhood, a National Memory, and a Message of Love"

With the participation of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, Prime Minister, and amidst a prominent turnout, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the country hosted a reception to mark the 96th anniversary of the Saudi National Day. The event was attended by a large number of officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, alongside prominent Saudi figures residing in Kuwait.

His Excellency Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, affirmed that Saudi-Kuwaiti relations are characterized by steadfast brotherhood, sincere affection, and a shared history. He noted that the bond linking the two countries transcends geographical boundaries, resting on the ties of blood and a shared destiny between the two royal families and their peoples.

In a speech delivered during the celebration, he stated that this occasion recalls the journey of generosity initiated by the founder of the Kingdom, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may God have mercy on him. He emphasized that National Day serves as an opportunity to reflect on the Kingdom’s journey and the achievements realized during it.

Referring to an image displayed during his address, he said it encapsulates what words may fail to describe regarding the uniqueness of the relationship between the two brotherly nations and their mutual stances over the years. He urged the attendees to contemplate it as a story of brotherhood, a national memory, and a message of love condensed into a single moment.

Stephen Butler, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States of America in Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, expressing his pleasure at participating in the celebration. Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the event, Butler said, “Congratulations to our Saudi friends,” affirming that the partnership and friendship between the United States and the Kingdom are deep and span generations, and that the bilateral relationship remains of great importance to this day.

For his part, Qasim Rashid, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kuwait, congratulated the Saudi Ambassador on the National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that it is an occasion worthy of celebration. Rashid stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a vital role in its relations with the United Kingdom and Kuwait, as well as in the region at large.

Olivier Gouven, Ambassador of the French Republic to Kuwait, also extended his congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, affirming that it is a close partner and friend of France. During his participation in the celebration, Gouven noted that Franco-Saudi relations are strong, encompassing cultural, economic, and military domains. He expressed his pride in participating in this occasion, conveying the congratulations of his country to the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Kuwait.

Rami Tahboub, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, extending his greetings to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Ambassador Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud, and the Saudi people. He wished the Kingdom continued progress, prosperity, and leadership in the Arab and Islamic worlds. Tahboub expressed his pride in the distinguished relations between Palestine and the Kingdom, praising its role in supporting the Palestinian cause and rallying support for the Palestinian people, particularly through its leadership, alongside the French Republic, of the coalition for a two-state solution.

Vladimir Giltov, Ambassador of Russia to Kuwait, expressed his pleasure at participating in the Saudi Embassy’s National Day celebration, commending the large turnout for the occasion. Giltov stated that Russia values the close ties linking it with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing to the role of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in strengthening them. He added that he maintains a good relationship with the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait and looks forward to continuing cooperation with his Saudi friends, particularly in Kuwait.

Yang Xin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, affirming the solidity of bilateral relations between China and the Kingdom. Yang stated that the two countries enjoy excellent cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, expressing his wishes for a more prosperous future for the Kingdom, its government, and its people.

Dr. Zafer Iqbal, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Kuwait, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its National Day, extending his greetings to His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, and the Saudi people. Iqbal affirmed the depth of the relations linking Pakistan and the Kingdom, stating that Pakistanis share in the joy of this occasion with their Saudi brothers and consider it a cherished event.

Kuwait’s Joy Is Our Joy… and Our Joy Is Kuwait’s Joy

His Excellency Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, stated that the celebration in Kuwait, with Kuwait, and from Kuwait carries a special significance. He extended his congratulations to both the Saudi and Kuwaiti peoples, adding: “Their joy is our joy, and our joy is their joy.”

He expressed his appreciation for the feelings of celebration and participation he sensed from the Kuwaiti people, saying: “In our celebration in Kuwait, we felt more from them than in our celebrations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is not surprising for the people of Kuwait and their leadership; since time immemorial, they have been on this path.”

Kuwait Holds Political and Economic Weight and Experience in Regional Stability

In response to a question regarding the Kingdom’s role in the region and the importance of Kuwait’s participation in the Gulf-European Summit, Prince Sultan bin Saad affirmed that the Kingdom’s role is well known to the world, noting that it plays a vital role on the international stage as a member of the G20, which comprises the world’s largest economies.

He clarified that Kuwait’s participation is significant, pointing to its great importance due to its political weight, economic weight, and long-term experience. He added: “Therefore, it carries weight and has a voice that is heard and sincere in what it says, and it also holds its weight at the international and regional levels.”

The Kingdom Is Moving Forward… We Have Surpassed 2030 and Are Launching into Vision 2040

Regarding the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, the Saudi Ambassador said: “We are currently in the process of surpassing 2030 and moving toward Vision 2040,” affirming that the Kingdom is moving forward and that the goal and fundamental pillar of the developmental journey is the Saudi citizen.

He explained that since its founding, the Kingdom has been built upon the Saudi citizen; this is the primary goal and the fundamental pillar of the Vision.

Regarding the level of coordination among Gulf states and the unity of the front, Prince Sultan bin Saad affirmed that the Kingdom is always in favor of unity of the front, whether at the regional or international level, pointing to its continuous commitment to coordinating with brothers and friends around the world for the benefit of all.
