Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Al-Nasser, affirmed that Kuwaiti-Saudi relations offer a unique model of a shared destiny forged by history, cemented by positions, and further built upon by the leaderships of both countries to enhance their security, stability, and prosperity. In a statement to KUNA on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Day, Ambassador Al-Nasser said that historical records bear firm evidence of the depth of this relationship, noting that the Founding King, Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, launched his historic journey to reclaim Riyadh from Kuwait, from which the process of unifying the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia began. He added that history embodied the same meaning decades later, when the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad, returned to Kuwait from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the liberation of Kuwait from the brutal Iraqi invasion in 1991. He clarified that these two milestones encapsulate the uniqueness of the relationship between the two countries and highlight a firm reality: that the security and destiny of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are one, and that what binds them transcends geographical boundaries to include historical, social ties, and shared interests inherited across generations. He noted that the Kingdom’s celebration of its National Day holds a special place for the State of Kuwait and its people, given the Kingdom’s profound historical and strategic significance to Kuwait, and he praised the comprehensive developmental renaissance and rapid achievements witnessed across various sectors. He pointed out that this year’s Saudi National Day carries a special character, particularly as it coincides with the launch of Gulf Games 27 in the Kingdom, where Gulf citizens celebrate both the Gulf sporting event and the Saudi National Day simultaneously. On this occasion, he extended his highest congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing the Kingdom continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity, and further development and growth for Kuwaiti-Saudi relations.
