The Ministry of Social Affairs began personal interviews yesterday for candidates vying for supervisory positions in the cooperative sector, paving the way for the selection of 90 financial and administrative supervisors from among national talents, based on the results of the written exam and personal interviews.

In a press statement, Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi said that the interviews commenced with the participation of 100 candidates out of a total of 250 applicants, and will continue for three days to select the most competent individuals based on their overall evaluation scores. He noted that 55 candidates applied for the financial supervisor position and 45 for the administrative supervisor position on the first day. He emphasized that the selection process follows uniform controls and criteria that ensure equal opportunity and merit-based differentiation among applicants according to their results.

Al-Ajmi added that the Ministry is proceeding with a clear policy of replacing national talents in supervisory roles within the cooperative sector, in line with directives from the political leadership, Cabinet decisions, and instructions from the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili. He clarified that the objective extends beyond merely filling positions; it aims to select qualified national talents capable of efficiently assuming financial and administrative supervisory responsibilities, thereby enhancing performance levels and discipline in the cooperative sector.

He affirmed that empowering national cadres in supervisory roles represents a continuous path in the Ministry’s work, aimed at strengthening citizen presence in oversight and follow-up positions, protecting public funds, and raising the efficiency of cooperative work. He pointed out that the selection procedures are based on transparency, neutrality, and equal opportunity, by subjecting all candidates to uniform standards, and noted that a public draw will be resorted to in case of ties in candidates’ scores.

Reinforcing the replacement process, Al-Ajmi stressed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that all stages of selection are clear, organized, and grounded in specific criteria. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to provide more opportunities for qualified national talents and to complete the steps of their replacement in targeted supervisory positions within the cooperative sector. He confirmed that these steps aim to build specialized national cadres capable of shouldering their responsibilities, thereby contributing to enhancing the efficiency of supervisory and administrative work in cooperative associations.
