De la Fuente extends his contract until 2032

Spain manager Luis de la Fuente has extended his contract until 2032 after leading the national team to victory in this summer’s World Cup, following their 2024 European Championship triumph, the Spanish Football Federation announced on Thursday.

In a statement, the federation said: “Luis de la Fuente’s contract has been extended to cover the next two European Championships (2028 and 2032) and the 2030 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.”

The 65-year-old coach, who took charge of “La Roja” at the end of 2022 succeeding Luis Enrique, the current Paris Saint-Germain manager, will continue his tenure with the aim of replicating the historic treble achieved by Spain between 2008 and 2012, which included two European Championship titles and a World Cup.
