Foreign Minister Participates in Coordination Meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council Ministers

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber participated in the coordination meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, United States. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among GCC member states, as well as preparations for meetings to be held with various countries and regional and international blocs on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings.

Minister Al-Jaber also attended the 21st Ministerial Working Dinner on the Middle East, held at the headquarters of the International Peace Institute in New York City on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The working dinner was hosted jointly by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; the President of the International Peace Institute, Prince Zaid bin Ra’ad Al Hussein; and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.

During the working dinner, participants discussed the overall issues and challenges facing the Middle East region and exchanged views on regional developments and related international initiatives. Participants also explored ways to support diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions, enhancing security and stability, and establishing peace in the region.
