Al-Yousef: We will not compromise on the enforcement of the law

Under the presence and supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control succeeded in apprehending a suspect engaged in manufacturing methamphetamine, trafficking and distributing narcotics, by exploiting a hideout in the Kabd area. The suspect’s Kuwaiti nationality had previously been revoked after it was established that he held dual citizenship. The arrest followed investigative procedures and surveillance of the suspect’s movements, culminating in a well-planned ambush that led to his capture at his residence in the Saad Al-Abdullah area, where 2 kilograms of methamphetamine and raw materials used in the production of psychoactive substances were seized. Additionally, money that the suspect had concealed in a tightly sealed underground pit was discovered. Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted to manufacturing methamphetamine at the Kabd hideout and confirmed that the seized funds were proceeds from his drug trafficking activities. Legal procedures have been initiated against the suspect and the seized items, and efforts are underway to confiscate the hideout used for drug production. Sheikh Al-Yousef affirmed that the Ministry of Interior remains resolute in combating the scourge of narcotics and eliminating its sources, and will not tolerate any attempt to threaten the country’s security or endanger its citizens. In a separate case, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, in coordination with the General Customs Authority, thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 4 kilograms of heroin into the country, which had been cleverly concealed within car parts. Surveillance and investigative operations led to the arrest of two Sri Lankan nationals in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Salwa areas, after they took possession of the shipment.
