Municipal Council: Support for Al-Durra Sea Field Project Needs and Salwa Border Crossing Expansion

The Municipal Council, in its ordinary session yesterday chaired by Abdullah Al-Mohri, approved a request from the General Customs Authority to expand the Al-Salim border crossing site. The Council also approved a request to cancel the allocation of the site designated for the third Oliveines project and the second Aromatics project (D2), and to re-allocate the site to support expansion operations for the onshore processing facilities and infrastructure of the Dura offshore field project (OPF) in the Zour area. Furthermore, the Council approved the Cabinet’s decision to temporarily utilize vacant lands allocated to government entities as parking lots until the commencement of their designated projects. The Council also approved the Cabinet’s decision to amend the Municipal Council’s resolution, thereby permitting the organization and utilization of sites within road rights-of-way as parking areas.
