Turkey: We will consider Saudi Arabia's military needs within the framework of the Mecca Alliance

Ankara – Agencies: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Turkey will consider Saudi Arabia’s military needs to counter the ongoing attacks launched by the Houthi group, deeming it unacceptable to make Saudi Arabia a party to the war between the United States and Iran, as Riyadh has no desire to become involved. In an interview with Turkey’s NTV channel, Fidan said that Saudi Arabia may have certain military requirements to address the persistent Houthi attacks, adding that Turkey would examine these needs within the framework of the Mecca Agreement for Joint Defense, signed last August between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. He further stated, without going into details, that proposals to end the fighting had been conveyed to all parties. In the interview, the Turkish minister downplayed the significance of Israeli and Iranian comments regarding the Mecca alliance, saying the alliance ignores such remarks and will serve as a highly important platform that changes the rules of the game.
