Al-Khalij Reinforces Environmental Sustainability Principles by Organizing a Beach Cleanup Campaign

In line with its commitment to embedding environmental sustainability principles in society, Gulf Bank organized a beach cleanup campaign in collaboration with Tourism Projects Company, with active participation from volunteers of the “Gulf Sawaed” team, as well as a number of the bank’s customers and employees. The initiative was held in observance of World Cleanup Day, which falls on September 20 each year, reflecting the bank’s dedication to protecting the environment, fostering a culture of volunteerism, and raising awareness about the importance of conserving natural resources.
The campaign saw the participation of several members of the “Gulf Sawaed” volunteer team, who contributed to cleaning the beach and collecting waste and debris from Al-Bilaj Beach, helping to reduce pollution and preserve the marine environment while reinforcing values of corporate social responsibility and positive community engagement.
World Cleanup Day is one of the largest environmental volunteer initiatives globally, bringing together millions of volunteers and institutions from various countries to tackle the waste problem, promote sustainable practices, and protect the environment. It has also been recognized as an official United Nations International Day, underscoring the importance of collective action in building cleaner and more sustainable communities.
This initiative aligns with Gulf Bank’s strategy to integrate sustainability principles into its various activities and operations, based on the conviction that environmental protection is a shared responsibility requiring coordinated efforts between institutions and individuals. The bank is committed to launching and implementing distinctive initiatives that enhance environmental awareness and encourage responsible behaviors that support the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.
The bank emphasized that sustainability represents one of the core pillars of its corporate strategy, as it continues to execute environmental and community programs and initiatives that contribute to creating a positive and lasting impact both within and beyond the workplace, reflecting its commitment to its role as a responsible banking institution toward society and the environment.
Furthermore, this campaign falls within Gulf Bank’s efforts to support the vision of the State of Kuwait and its directions toward achieving sustainable development, by contributing to environmental protection and strengthening community partnerships that align with the Sustainable Development Goals and enhance the quality of life in Kuwaiti society.
Gulf Bank expressed its appreciation to Tourism Projects Company for its cooperation in organizing the event, affirming that effective partnerships between private and public sector institutions help expand the scope of environmental initiatives and maximize their positive impact, thereby reinforcing the culture of sustainability and volunteerism in society.
Gulf Bank continues to implement carefully selected initiatives and events that reflect its commitment to corporate social responsibility and its active role in supporting environmental issues, while embedding sustainability practices both inside and outside the bank, in harmony with Kuwait’s aspirations for a more sustainable and prosperous future.
