The Spirit of the Country
Undoubtedly, this is a crime against this plant life, which its doctors (the Public Works Authority and the Agricultural Authority) merely observe without intervening to treat it before what remains is rushed into intensive care to save it, provided the medical prescription (water) is promptly administered twice daily, with continuous follow-up and monitoring by its doctors to restore its health and preserve its freshness and beauty. Even if its doctors delegate the completion of its treatment to a medical center (a company), they must continue to oversee and monitor the center’s officials, fearing their negligence, which has already caused some plants to lose their limbs. The sight of their withering appearance in the central medians of main streets, beside traffic signals, and on bridges pains visitors as they pass by after leaving their homes and returning to them. Therefore, we urge the consultant professor to issue orders to his doctors to provide the medicine (funding) and extend the duration of the medical prescription (water) to sustain the life of this plant life before it perishes.

In summary: The first impression on the state’s guests and visitors is the country’s cleanliness and the beauty of its landscaping. It is certain that attention to ornamental planting is part of the government’s reform plan. However, the blindness of the officials at the Public Works Authority and the Agricultural Authority, coupled with a lack of coordination between them, has prevented them from seeing what citizens observe: the deterioration and neglect of the plants. Perhaps this observation will open their eyes and remove the lens that deludes them into thinking that “feseekh is sherbet” (i.e., that things are fine when they are not). Anyone who truly cares about the interests of their country, in action rather than mere words, whether an official or a citizen, should prioritize the beauty and cleanliness of the nation before attending to the beauty and cleanliness of their own home or office.
