Handball "Blue" faces Iran tomorrow
The Kuwaiti handball team begins its campaign in the Asian Games, currently being held in Nagoya, Japan, tomorrow (Saturday), when it faces Iran in its opening match in Group 2. The "Blue Handball" squad aims to deliver a distinctive technical performance that reflects the development of Kuwaiti handball and secure a positive start to provide a strong boost for the remainder of its journey, despite the difficulty of a group featuring several strong opponents. The Blue team hopes to secure one of the qualification spots for the second round and continue its run in the Games, contributing to bringing Kuwaiti handball back to the Asian forefront and restoring its customary presence.
The technical and administrative staff had prepared a comprehensive preparation program for the national team ahead of the Asian event. This began with an overseas training camp in Europe, specifically in Slovenia and Croatia, followed by a local preparation phase, and concluded with a final preparation stage through an overseas camp in Tokyo, Japan. During this final camp, the team conducted daily training sessions and played one friendly match aimed at enhancing the players' technical and physical readiness.
The draw for the Asian Games had placed the "Blue" team in Group 2 alongside South Korea, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Bahrain.
