The Olympic team faces a tough test when it takes on Uzbekistan at 1:00 p.m. today, in the second round of Group C of the football tournament at the 20th Asian Games, “Aichi-Nagoya 2026,” being held in Japan until October 4. The Blue Olympic side aims to secure a positive result to bolster its chances of competing for one of the two qualification spots.
The team enters the match with one point, earned from a 1-1 draw with Vietnam in the first round. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan tops the group with three points after a dominant 5-1 victory over the Philippines. Vietnam and the Philippines will meet in the other match scheduled for today.
The technical staff, led by Spanish coach David Digne, is well aware of the difficulty of the encounter, given the strength of the Uzbek side, which displayed significant offensive capabilities in its opening match.
