Polonia terminates its manager's contract

Four months after his appointment, Bologna, which is going through a difficult period in the Italian Serie A, terminated the contract of its manager Domenico Tedesco and immediately replaced him with former Atalanta coach Raffaele Palladino, according to a club statement published the day before yesterday. The brief statement read: “Bologna FC 1909 extends its sincere thanks to Domenico Tedesco for the work he carried out with professionalism and efficiency.” The 41-year-old Italian-German coach, born in Calabria before growing up in Germany, had been appointed on June 2 to succeed Vincenzo Italiano. Following his stints at Schalke in 2019, RB Leipzig in Germany in 2022, the Belgian national team in 2025, and Turkey’s Fenerbahce in April, this marks the fifth time in his career that Tedesco has been dismissed from a managerial position. He also served as the head coach of the Belgian national team between 2023 and 2025. To succeed him, the club’s management appointed Raffaele Palladino (42). The former coach of Monza and Fiorentina had been available since his departure from Atalanta Bergamo in June and signed a contract running until June 2029.
