United States acknowledges deployment of weapons in space

The United States has confirmed for the first time that it has deployed weapons in space, a striking disclosure that follows earlier warnings about the potential militarization of a domain that treaties have designated for peaceful use only. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink stated that the United States has deployed “space control weapons in orbit capable of defending the joint force against hostile actions by adversaries.”
