Pakistan: We stand shoulder to shoulder with Saudi Arabia in defense of its sovereignty and the security of the Two Holy Mosques
Islamabad – Agencies: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday “strongly condemned” the attempt to target Mecca with drones, affirming that his country stands “shoulder to shoulder” with Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques. In a post on his official account on the X platform, Sharif said the Pakistani people feel sadness and concern over the attack, adding that “no words are strong enough to express the depth of pain and sorrow” over what he described as a “despicable and unforgivable act.” The Pakistani prime minister praised the “exceptional vigilance, courage, and professionalism” of the Saudi armed forces, commending their swift response to the attack. Sharif reiterated his call for all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation, noting that the region has already suffered greatly from conflicts, and that dialogue and diplomacy remain “the only sustainable path to peace.”
