Governor of Al Hudaydah: "A major conspiracy" behind the Houthis' control of the western coast

Yemeni Prime Minister Shuaib al-Zindani stated that the Houthi escalation was no longer an internal military matter, but had evolved into a threat to national, regional security, and international interests. Meanwhile, Al Hudaydah Governor Hassan Taher described the events on the western coast as a “major conspiracy.” The Yemeni prime minister argued that “Iranian support has contributed to turning Yemen’s land and waters into a platform for threatening regional security and international interests,” noting that Houthi missile and drone attacks on Saudi territory, alongside the escalation on the western coast, were part of a project that extended beyond targeting Yemen’s internal affairs to threatening neighboring countries and regional and international interests.

For his part, Al Hudaydah Governor Hassan Taher said that the recent developments on the western coast did not represent a military defeat, but were the result of a “deception and major conspiracy,” vowing to expose the entities he claimed had pushed, funded, and facilitated the events. In a filmed statement broadcast by the governorate’s media office, Taher added that the forces were confronting the Houthis, Iran, and their supporters, pointing to billions of dollars in funding behind the operation, without naming the accused parties.
