Lavrov denies Iran-Ukraine swap

Moscow – Agencies: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denied yesterday that Moscow had offered the United States any “swap” linking a resolution of the crisis with Iran to a settlement of the war in Ukraine. Lavrov stated that Russia had not proposed to Washington a deal involving a resolution in Iran in exchange for one in Ukraine, a stance that comes as U.S. diplomacy advances along two separate tracks concerning the Ukrainian war and the conflict with Tehran. Lavrov did not provide further details on whether the issues of Iran and Ukraine were raised together during recent Russian-American communications, but he directly denied the existence of a Russian offer based on exchanging concessions between the two files.
