In line with its commitment to social responsibility and the promotion of sustainable practices, aligned with the social and environmental dimensions of its approach within the framework of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, Kuwait International Bank (KIB) participated in supporting a campaign to collect used school supplies, organized by Al Jahra Mall in conjunction with the back-to-school season. The initiative aimed to encourage community members to donate school supplies that are still in good condition for reuse, ensuring they are recycled and distributed to needy families. The campaign saw participation from various age groups, supported by volunteers who contributed to the collection and sorting processes, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and community responsibility, and helping to reinforce awareness of the importance of conserving resources and reducing waste.
On this occasion, Abdulaziz Al-Thawab, Assistant Manager of the Corporate Communications Unit at KIB, said: “At KIB, we believe that community initiatives derive their true value when they provide individuals with the opportunity to participate in creating a positive impact. This underscores the importance of our support for this initiative, which transformed unused school supplies into resources that others can benefit from, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.”
Al-Thawab added: “The initiative also carries an important message about our shared responsibility toward the resources we use, and the importance of extending their useful life whenever possible, rather than disposing of them. Such initiatives practically combine community service with the promotion of more conscious and sustainable behaviors, values that we strive to reinforce through KIB’s Corporate Social Responsibility program and our approach to ESG.”
The support for the initiative coincided with KIB’s participation in back-to-school activities through a dedicated booth at Al Jahra Mall over a three-week period, providing the bank with the opportunity to engage directly with families and mall visitors, introducing them to its products, services, and diverse banking solutions tailored to their needs and lifestyles.
KIB’s presence at Al Jahra Mall during the back-to-school season reflects its commitment to staying close to its customers during occasions that are part of their daily lives, meeting them in venues beyond traditional branches and banking channels, thereby enhancing direct communication and enabling a deeper understanding of their needs and aspirations.
It is worth noting that KIB continues to actively participate in various community events and engage with destinations that bring together different segments of society. Through these activities, the bank strengthens its relationships with both its customers and the broader community, reaffirming its commitment to being a close partner in all stages of their lives, embodying its corporate slogan, “A Bank for Life.”
