New Delhi – Agencies: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed yesterday that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will not accept attacks on their territory, facilities, or vital interests under any pretext or guise. Speaking at a session during the second day of the 2026 BRICS summit in New Delhi, Prince Faisal said, “Saudi Arabia’s security and the integrity of its territory and facilities are inviolable,” adding that “the security of the Arabian Gulf can only be stabilized through respect for the sovereignty of its states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness.” He underscored the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and all waterways around the world, emphasizing that the stability of these routes is directly linked to energy security and international trade, and that any disruption there could have repercussions on global markets, supply chains, and economic growth. According to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal affirmed that, in light of current developments, priority in the region should be given to de-escalation and creating space for political and diplomatic efforts, which would contribute to enhancing regional security and stability. He also highlighted the purposes for which international institutions were established, stressing the urgent need to strengthen their capacity to fulfill their responsibilities, and affirming that the credibility of the international system is tied to its consistency in applying its rules and laws to all.
