Kuwait, represented by the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nizaha), participated in the 11th meeting of the Deputies Committee on Combating Corruption of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held via video conferencing and chaired by Dr. Majed Al-Daihani, Deputy Chairman of Nizaha. In a press statement, Nizaha said that Al-Daihani praised the Gulf efforts to strengthen the integrity framework and combat corruption, amid rising international demands to entrench integrity values and enhance oversight frameworks. He emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to cooperating with GCC countries and highlighted their key initiatives within the framework of the Ministerial Committee on Combating Corruption.

The statement added that the meeting discussed a Kuwaiti initiative aimed at unifying Gulf efforts to prevent and combat corruption and establishing a mechanism to regulate the work of the Experts Committee on Combating Corruption in GCC countries. The initiative seeks to govern and organize the Experts Committee’s work to enhance coordination among member states. It also aims to unify views and positions in relevant regional and international forums, in line with the aspirations of the heads of anti-corruption authorities in GCC countries.

The meeting discussed the GCC countries’ competition for research and studies in the fields of integrity protection and anti-corruption for 2026, titled “Combating Corruption through Non-Judicial Means: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Experiences,” as well as the discussion of evaluation results of submitted research papers by reviewers appointed by GCC countries. Additionally, the meeting discussed holding a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Enhancing Integrity and Compliance in the Private Sector,” and the recommendations of the Gulf workshop held last July, titled “Combating Corruption and Identifying the Beneficial Owner in GCC Countries,” which was organized by Nizaha in coordination with the General Secretariat.

Nizaha’s participation in this meeting reflects Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening joint Gulf efforts in preventing and combating corruption, and its keenness to make an active contribution to safeguarding the values of integrity and transparency, in service of the societies of GCC countries.
