Al-Taawoun Club dismissed its Serbian coach, Jarko Lazetić, hours after a heavy 6-0 defeat to Al-Hilal in the seventh round of the Saudi Pro League. In a statement on its X account, Al-Taawoun said: “The club’s board of directors has decided to terminate the contractual relationship with first-team coach Jarko Lazetić, thanking him for his tenure at the club.” Lazetić’s dismissal marks the first managerial change in the Saudi Pro League this season. Al-Taawoun also announced that Syrian coach Jihad Al-Hussein has been appointed as interim manager until a new head coach is hired. Following the harsh defeat to Al-Hilal, Lazetić expressed deep frustration, saying at the post-match press conference: “It’s hard for me to say anything after this loss. I congratulate Al-Hilal, as they were better than our team in all aspects of football. That’s all I have to say.”
