Kuwait: Targeting of Saudi pipeline is a blow to supply security

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the East-West pipeline in the Riyadh and Medina regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by multiple drones originating from Iraqi territory, which resulted in human casualties and material damage. This incident constitutes a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a breach of international law and international humanitarian law, and a threat to energy supply security.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that these attacks represent a serious escalation that could undermine regional security and stability. It emphasized the importance of the Iraqi government taking necessary measures to ensure that its territory is not used as a launching point for such attacks, and to work toward halting and preventing their recurrence.

The Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and interests.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that the call discussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region and ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Minister Al-Jaber also held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. During the call, the parties discussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region and ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

He also held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Furthermore, Minister Al-Jaber held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Badr Al Busaidi.
