Kuwait Club has signed Palestinian professional player Sani Sakkakini to bolster its senior men’s basketball team ahead of the West Asia Basketball Championship “WABA,” which will be held in Beirut, Lebanon, from September 25 to October 1. Sakkakini plays the center position, began his basketball career in 2007, and has played for numerous Arab and Asian clubs, bringing extensive experience in such tournaments. He is the fourth foreign player signed by the team, as the tournament regulations allow for four professionals to be registered, with only three permitted on the court at any given time. Kuwait Club competes in Group A alongside Lebanon’s Al-Riyadi, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad, and India’s Indian Railways, while Group B features Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ola, Lebanon’s Al-Hekmeh, Qatar’s Al-Arabi, and Iran’s Shahrdari. The Palestinian player previously played for Kuwait Club in several international tournaments. The club aims to compete strongly for the Asian title and has strengthened its roster with influential players, including the American trio of Shinano Onuaku, Christian Brown, and Dai Dai Grant, in preparation for the championship.
