Qatar and Australia friendly on November 13

The Qatar national team will play a friendly match against Australia on November 13, as announced by the Qatar Football Association yesterday. In a statement on its official website, the Qatar FA said the match will be held at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, as part of the “Arabs’” preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup finals. The continental finals will take place in Saudi Arabia between January 7 and February 5 next year. The draw for the 19th edition of the Asian Cup placed the Qatars, holders of the last two titles (2019 in the UAE and 2023 in Doha), in Group 6, alongside Japan, the most successful team with four titles, as well as Thailand and Indonesia. The Qatari national team is preparing to make its first appearance after the 2026 World Cup when it participates in Gulf Cup 27, hosted by Saudi Arabia between September 23 and October 6 next year. The Gulf Cup draw placed the “Arabs” in Group 2 alongside the UAE, Bahrain, and Yemen, while Group 1 included host Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait.
