“Junior Forces” Concludes Its Successful Participation in “Al Arabiya”

The Kuwaiti athletics team concluded its participation in the 12th Arab Junior Championships (under 18 years), held in Cairo, with a haul of seven medals: three gold, three silver, and one bronze. Head coach Dr. Nasser Al-Jarallah described the team’s participation in the current edition of the Arab Championships as “distinguished,” praising the athletes for their achievements, medals, and new personal bests.

Al-Jarallah noted that the seven medals included two golds won by Abdulrahman Al-Azmi in the triple jump, and a gold medal by Yasmeen Walid in the high jump. The team also secured three silver medals: for Abdul Karim Al-Hassan in the hammer throw, Abbas Al-Nasser in the pole vault, and Fahad Al-Dhafiri in the long jump. Al-Dhafiri is the youngest competitor in the championships. Additionally, player Haider Al-Qattan won a bronze medal in the 100-meter sprint.

Al-Jarallah stated that the junior athletics team is “a promising squad featuring many talented players,” adding that they managed to win medals and set strong personal bests despite the fierce competition and high level of the participating national teams. He confirmed that the National Teams Committee at the Athletics Federation, chaired by Falah Al-Ajmi, has a future plan to make this team “the cornerstone and core foundation” of the senior athletics squad within three to four years, by focusing on training camps and recruiting top coaches to develop these athletes’ performance levels.
